Perhaps the main SharePoint is file sharing / collaboration platform. The traditional exchange of files from Windows is an old and lacks many of the technical attributes of the research collaboration, the companies. In other words, replace each folder with a traditional single site with a single document library. Each subfolder is again replaced by a secondary site and a traditional individual single document library. This does not mean that you can not structure a little ‘different, you might have five different collections of documents on a site or a collection of different pages for each department in your company. This example is only for the nearest equivalent of SharePoint in a traditional shared folder in order to increase functionality, without illustrating the ease of navigation. Once you understand the structural possibilities, and believe me, there are many, many more than those briefly mentioned above, you can migrate the old structure in advance SharePoint folder. If you have a small number of folders, a manual creation is perfect, but if you always start with a total of 100 folders, it is clear that some automation tools are worth the cost. There are several on the market, but they are expensive, even compared to someone who does all the work manually. The two protagonists are actually intended for enterprise-level customers and therefore have a very high base price. In addition, they ask to be transferred very quickly and astronomical per GB.

Smaller “wandering” I’ve never seen a few thousand dollars and it seems incomplete. In most small organizations that I have seen, even if they have a man in the house is usually a good idea to use a reputable consultant to SharePoint for the first months rent at least. The knowledge that you or your IT administrator with the increase, worth as much as the abandonment of the current work of the consultants did for SharePoint.
